The terror assault in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of at least 26 people, was denounced by the Indian Supreme Court on Wednesday.
The incident is a "diabolical act of mindless violence" that "has shaken the conscience of all and is a stark reminder of the brutality and inhumanity that terrorism unleashes," according to a decision unanimously adopted by the Full Court.
In addition to offering its sincere sympathies to the relatives of the deceased, the Supreme Court of India pays its respectable homage to the innocent lives that were brutally and prematurely taken. May those who were hurt get better quickly, and may the departed rest in peace. In this time of unfathomable sorrow, the country is with the victims and their families," the Court stated.
It also stated,
"This Court firmly condemns the attack on tourists who were simply taking in the natural beauty of the Crown Jewel of India, i.e., Kashmir, as it is unquestionably an affront to human values and the sanctity of life."
In remembrance of the victims and to show support for their families, judges, attorneys, staff, and other court attendees also observed two minutes of silence.
